B.Huey Designs will have a table at this year’s Colerain Booster’s Craft Show. If you haven’t been, this show is huge. It’s a staple of the community craft shows around here, and it’s lots of fun. The show runs on both Saturday and Sunday, and admission is only $1.
This will be my last show of the season! I will have a limited amount of Christmas themed items, as well as NEW creations made with vintage Swarovski pieces. There will be bookmarks, necklaces, and earrings! In a word, there will be sparkle.
My fall craft season kicks off on Sunday, October 27 at the Donauschwaben! I’ve been so busy with author work lately that I haven’t had much time for jewelry making. And I am so excited to be back! Get out the sparklies, because craft show season is upon us!
My first show this year will be at the Donauschwaben, a German heritage center on Dry Ridge Road here in Cincinnati. The show is called Shop with Friends, and it benefits the Donauschwaben Youth and Kinder Dancing Groups. The entry fee is only $2.
Besides Bhuey Designs, there will be vendors, raffles, and food! The show runs from 10-3, and promises to be a lovely day. I do hope you’ll stop by and say hello!
Sometimes I feel like I have my hand in too many things. Too many pies in the oven. But the truth is, I like it that way. I love having a variety of interest! There’s jewelry making, writing, bookkeeping, office remodels, and kids to think about. Today, a slice of jewelry making.
A necklace for Miss Darcy, one of the most complex characters in the Austen cannon. I love her story. Her fall from grace, her struggle, and ultimate redemption. Used by a scoundrel, then rising into womanhood despite him. I love her. This beautiful pendant reminded me of her; the pink color is called Antique Pink, and it’s perfect for her character.
I’m working on lining up shows for the fall! I’m excited for some things coming up in October, and hopefully several in November. I know, I know, it’s a long way from now. For now, let’s enjoy summer!
I’m happy to announce that Bhuey Designs will have a table at this year’s Craft Boutique & Vendor Fair at the Colerain Township Senior & Community Center! Last year’s show was my very first craft fair, and it was such a positive experience. The Bhuey Designs team (hi Mom!!) have had many successful shows since, and I’m so excited to be back at the Colerain Craft Boutique with our new and updated line of jewelry and accessories.
I’ll have my usual spread of sparkly Swarovski crystal jewelry, plus my popular book marks, and some very special holiday jewelry.
The show is on December 2, and runs from 9-3. It’s held at the Colerain Township Senior & Community Center, at 4300 Springdale Road.
The Dragonfly Foundation is a wonderful non-profit organization that provides support to young cancer patients and their families. Through gifts, social events, and community building, The Dragonfly Foundation helps young (0-30) cancer and bone marrow transplant patients find strength.
A wonderful art and craft show that benefits a wonderful cause. What could be better?
Oh my. January is over already. Things have been *quite* busy around here. Homeschool is rolling along, and we’ve managed to avoid a January slump. I think the fact that we’ve had some crazy warm days has helped. Even though Evy and I have a hard time fully enjoying warm days in winter…we know too much.
And then of course, there have been the snow storms that I have popped up between the warm days.
February promises to be another busy, busy month. There are the usual commitments, plus swim meets and….drum roll…another jewelry show to prepare for! I’ve been hard at work creating more lovely pieces for my favorite heroines. Here’s a sneak peek.
More information to come soon! Until then, happy crafting/schooling/living to all!
My table at the craft fair was a success! I figured out how to use the point of sale card reader. People *did* buy things, despite my fears that the would not. And best of all, I had fun! A huge thank you to my family, especially my mom, who came to visit or stay at my table with me.
I’m putting more items up in the shop today. Come take a look! Last day to ship for Christmas is December 17!
A few months ago, I spied a flyer at my local YMCA. A craft show was coming up, and the organizers were calling for crafters and vendors to sell their wares. My interest was piqued.
I had recently relaunched my Etsy shop and was looking to expand my business. That sounds almost ridiculously formal and preplanned. Basically, I saw the flyer, remembered that I had always wanted to try a craft fair, and sent an email asking for more information.
Fast forward a few months. My place is reserved. I’ve purchased the necessary vendor-like tablecloth (with full skirt, thank you) and gift bags. I’ve gathered my point of sale gadget, my cash box, and my display forms. I’ve stocked over 40 items worth of inventory. I am ready.
Actually, I’m terrified. I’m excited, and terrified. What if I don’t sell anything? Or worse, what if I do??
I have several more weeks to ponder these worrisome thoughts. In the meantime, I’ll just continue to tell my six mind to chill. It’s going to be fun…right?
